Inspiration Board: Honeysuckle

For my first board after a very long time, I chose to focus on Pantone's Color of the Year for 2011: Honeysuckle.

It's like pink, but a darker tone, though less darker than fuchsia. Not as bright as magenta and less of the bluish tone. Pantone describes it as "courageous, confident, vital." And brides opting for this color are going for the more non-traditional route -- choosing a bold color that pretty much stands out from the rest.

Looking for photos with this color was pretty challenging, as it wasn't really pink nor fuchsia. And definitely not red. So I chose colors that were pretty close to honeysuckle and paired it with white/ ivory. Hope you like it:

Inspiration board - Pink and Brown

Yes, I so love pink...

For the past years, this color combination has become one of the more famous ones. Actually, brown plus another color (turquoise, orange, etc.). But for me this pretty much stands out because, aside from pink being a favorite color, it also reminds me of the two other things that I love: chocolate and strawberry. Yum!

Anyways, this combination is still loved by many brides-to-be. Hope you enjoy this inspiration board!

Inspiration board - Pink and Gold

I've always been in love with pink. Ever since I was a girl, I'd say that's my favorite color. That's why I came up with this inspiration board with pink as the main color and gold as the accent.

The combination is classic and elegant. I'd say this is a great motif color for probably a vintage or English tea party theme. And to get you started, here is my collage of photos to give you an idea for a pink (or blush) and gold wedding.

Inspiration board - Moroccan

I think one of the most stunning wedding themes is going Moroccan. It's often characterized by rich colors like shades of red, purple, blues, and orange, and often is a combination of those hues. Patterns are intricate yet festive, with inspirations from Arabic and Asian cultures. I would say having a Moroccan wedding theme is all about the details, from the decor to the invitations to favors.

While going for a Moroccan theme for your wedding would entail coordinating the details, it's not that hard. To start off, you could browse for pictures of Morocco and try recreating the look with what's available in the market. I've made an inspiration board for a Moroccan wedding theme, and I hope this will help get you started:

Inspiration board - Summer

Maybe the heat is getting into me... so I thought why not do a summer theme for my next inspiration board?

I like summer. It's a warm season, not much rain, everything's in bloom, and a great time to cool down by the beach. I like the weather, the burst of colors -- they make me so cheery inside.

Anyway, for this inspiration board, I used the bright colors I associate the season with: yellow, green, and pink, with some lavenders and blues. And because it's a hot season, I picked dresses that have light fabrics and without the heavy design. Throw in some unique wedding details, and voila! Hope you enjoy this one.

Inspiration board - Valentine

Well, it's February, officially the month of hearts. And Valentine's Day is just around the corner. So I looked around the Net for some valentine inspirations for weddings themed as such. Your wedding doesn't have to fall on the month of Love to qualify as a Valentine Wedding -- you can always make any day Valentine's Day, in my opinion.

Of course, the common color scheme here is red, pink and white. Lots of hearts, too. Hope you like it!
